Lead QA Tester
Justyna Siwek
What do you do at Directio? How long are you working here?
I work at Directio as a Software tester so on daily basis I focus on turning coffee into bugs and here in Directio we have great coffee!

What did you do before joining Directio?
I have been working in Directio since August 2017 so quite a lot of time in the industry! But also, it’s been a great time full of achievements and good memories.
Before joining Directio, I was a teacher in a primary school. I left this job when I realized that software testers also point out other’s mistakes, and that the environment is quieter.

Why do you like working here?
In general, I love working in Directio because of the friendly atmosphere and the great people who are always eager to help and share their knowledge. They also organize great parties and donations for many good causes.

What do you do in your free time?
In my free time I practice Zumba and I learn Spanish so that I might watch ‘La casa de papel’ without subtitles one day.

Client Success and Partnership Manager
Roel Calderon
What do you do at Directio? How long are you working here?
Now at Directio, I’m the Client Success & Partnership Manager and will be celebrating my first year in November!

What did you do before joining Directio?
Before joining Directio, I worked in Human Resource Talent and Development where I took on the role of Sr. Regional Trainer and I also a became a project lead for CRMS, BSS, Web and Mobile initiatives.

Why do you like working here?
As a Client Success and Partnership Manager (CSPM), no two days are ever quite the same. Every day brings its own mix of challenges, surprises, and opportunities, which keeps things exciting.

I usually kick off my day by reviewing schedules and figuring out what tasks need to be tackled first to make sure the most important things get done. One of the main reasons I love this role is because I genuinely enjoy working with people. Helping clients reach their goals and seeing their success gives me so much pride. Plus, I get to work with such a diverse group of clients, each with their own unique needs, which keeps me engaged and motivated.

Active listening is a huge part of what I do. I make it a priority to really understand what our clients need and what obstacles they’re facing, then I customize my approach to help them. Whether that’s by asking the right questions or just being empathetic, it's all about making sure they feel heard.

My goal isn’t just to fix problems as they come up, but to help our clients reach their long-term goals. Building strong, trusting relationships is key, and I make it a point to keep communication open and consistent so that everyone feels confident we’re on the same page.

While each may be different, but my focus is always the same: delivering great results and building solid, positive relationships with our clients.

What do you do in your free time?
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me hanging out with my family, watching series. I love to travel too, whether it’s exploring locally or heading abroad, but honestly, I’m happiest being a bit of a homebody!

IT Director
Krzysztof Kunowski
What do you do at Directio? How long are you working here?
I have been working at Directio for almost three decades. I joined the company in 1998 as a software developer, then progressed through several positions including System Administrator, Head of Administrators, Product Manager, and since 2005 I have been working as the IT Director. This long career path has allowed me to gain experience in almost every area of the business.
As an IT Director, I am responsible for managing both the IT and R&D departments. My role combines technical leadership, project management, and business consulting. I oversee the entire lifecycle of IT projects. From gathering customer requirements, through solution design and implementation, to post-deployment support.
I work closely with customers to understand their business needs and translate them into technical solutions. I also supervise software development, database architecture, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and system integration projects. Besides management responsibilities, I still enjoy being involved in technical work such as software architecture, SQL optimization, automation, and designing new solutions for our products and clients.

What did you do before joining Directio?
Before joining Directio, I worked in several IT-related positions that helped me build a strong technical foundation.
I started programming while I was still in high school, developing applications for surveying companies and accounting systems. Later I worked as a programmer for a courier company, where I developed invoicing software and managed customer databases.
I also worked as a software developer for TSI Magnet, creating web applications, and at COMP S.A., where I trained employees in Microsoft Office products. In addition, I worked as a freelancer, developing customized software solutions for different clients.
Those early experiences allowed me to learn programming, databases, networking, customer communication, and problem-solving from a very practical perspective. They also taught me how important it is to understand business requirements before writing any code.

Why do you like working here?
One of the main reasons I enjoy working at Directio is the opportunity to work on challenging and diverse projects. Every client has different business processes and requirements, so there is always something new to learn and solve.
I also appreciate the level of responsibility and trust that I have built over the years. I have the opportunity to influence both technical and strategic decisions, work with modern technologies, and continuously improve our products.
Another important aspect is that I can combine management with hands-on technical work. I enjoy leading teams, mentoring colleagues, but I also like solving complex technical problems myself. Seeing a project evolve from an initial idea into a successful solution used by customers is very rewarding.
Finally, after so many years, Directio has become much more than just a workplace. I have had the opportunity to grow together with the company, contribute to its development, and build long-term relationships with both colleagues and clients.

What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy activities that allow me to learn new things and keep developing my technical skills.
Technology is both my profession and my hobby, so I often spend time exploring new IT solutions, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, and software development. I enjoy experimenting with new tools and building my own projects to better understand emerging technologies.
I am also interested in cryptography and data protection, which have always fascinated me because they combine mathematics, computer science, and practical security challenges.
When I want to relax, I enjoy reading popular science books, especially those related to technology and innovation. I also like bowling, which helps me unwind and spend time with friends.
Overall, I enjoy activities that combine continuous learning with practical problem-solving, because I believe there is always something new to discover in the IT world.

Product Adoption Instructional Designer
Ilona Korczykowska
What do you do at Directio? How long are you working here?
At Directio I work as a Product Adoption Instructional Designer for Tacton, our Swedish partner, where I create content for internal and external enablement around new products and functionalities. I've been working here for four years, including my maternity leave, and I actually started back about three months ago.

What did you do before joining Directio?
Before joining Directio, I worked as a training and customer support specialist at a software company. Before that, I worked as a designer in a manufacturing company, and before that, I studied chemical engineering — so it's been a pretty broad journey 🙂

Why do you like working here?
I like working here for a lot of reasons: the remote work and flexibility, the interesting and engaging projects, and the overall atmosphere, since the people here are incredibly helpful and kind. The company has also been extremely supportive and caring when it comes to personal life events, like starting a family, getting pregnant, and going on (and then returning from) maternity leave. On top of all that, the benefits are great, and the free bag of ground coffee delivery is honestly the cherry on top ❤️

What do you do in your free time?
In my what? 😅 Right now I'm a full-time mom, 24/7, and it's honestly the best job, hobby, and free time activity in the world. I love it!

Senior Java Developer - External Consultant
Paweł Arciszewski
What do you do at Directio? How long are you working here?
I’m Senior Java Developer. I work for our Swedish partner Tacton since December 2021. I’m responsible mostly for implementing new stuff to our partners’ CPQ application and sometimes for fixing bugs.

What did you do before joining Directio?
Before Directio I was doing generally the same – things around programming in Java, but in several different technologies and areas. I started a dozen years ago as a full-stack developer (this position name wasn’t known then 😊). Then I changed the side for a while and moved to mobile technologies and tried C# with Windows Phone development. After that I preserved mobile tech but moved back to Java as an Android developer. Next were backend technologies in Java and I stayed like that till now.

Why do you like working here?
Because of people and I’m serious here! The atmosphere in Directio is fantastic. For example we’ve had our first after-pandemic offline integration party. And I felt then like I was working here for years. That is enough answer for me. Also, I’ve never met so engaged and taking care of employees CEO like Angelo. Besides that, there are many benefits and career/skills development possibilities here. The office is very nice, well-stocked and in the city center. If you want to go to the office for work – no problem. If you want fully remote – no problem.

What do you do in your free time?
Except for rising a fantastic daughter together with my wife, I like traveling around the world and playing board or computer games. I’m interested and trying to learn more about cryptocurrencies, quantum physics and cosmology. Also, I’m trying to keep in shape by doing some sports. Currently, it’s biking and calisthenics.

Senior Manual Quality Analyst
Danna Mae Basto
What do you do at Directio? How long are you working here?
I'm a Senior Software QA Analyst at Directio, currently supporting our client, EssilorLuxottica. My job is to make sure the software behaves the way it should—basically, I spend my days trying to break things before our users do! 🙂

I've been with Directio for almost three years now, and I'll be celebrating my third anniversary this August. It’s been a great journey of learning, solving problems, and, of course, drinking plenty of coffee along the way while hunting for bugs.

What did you do before joining Directio?
Before joining Directio, I was also working as a Software QA Analyst. Since QA has been my focus throughout my career, I have gained solid experience in software testing, defect management, and quality assurance processes. That foundation helped me grow professionally and prepared me for my current role as a Senior Software QA Analyst at Directio.

Why do you like working here?
I enjoy working at Directio because I've had a positive experience overall. I appreciate the supportive work culture and the trust that's given to employees, which motivates me to continue improving and contributing to the team. I've had the chance to collaborate with talented colleagues and continuously improve my QA skills. Over the past three years, I've gained valuable experience that has helped me become a more confident and effective QA professional.

What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy staying active by going to the gym and taking walks. I also like watching movies, exploring new restaurants, traveling whenever I have the opportunity, and spending quality time with my family and friends. I believe maintaining a good balance between work and personal life helps me stay refreshed, motivated, and productive.
I'm grateful to Directio for providing an environment where I can continue to grow professionally while still having time to enjoy life outside of work.
