We are looking for a Platform Tech Lead for our international client, a global leader in cloud‑native software solutions for the property and casualty insurance industry. Their mission is to empower insurers to deliver faster, smarter, and more personalized customer experiences through a low‑code, configurable SaaS platform.
Responsibilities
- As a Platform Tech Lead you will be designing and developing high-complexity software solutions, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and maintainability standards;
- You will be guiding and overseeing the team’s work, providing technical direction, monitoring progress, and ensuring deliverables align with business goals and architectural guidelines;
- You will be leading the creation of conceptual designs and architecture for the platform’s microservices, ensuring that solutions are robust, future-proof, and support organizational scalability;
- You will be providing hands-on mentorship and guidance to engineers at all levels – senior, mid, and junior – fostering technical growth, knowledge sharing, and best practices;
- You will be conducting thorough code reviews, enforcing development standards, and supporting the team in solving complex technical challenges with a pragmatic and quality-first mindset;
- You will be making key decisions on source code management, leading technical discussions, and actively contributing to the long-term technical roadmap for a microservices platform deployed on Azure Kubernetes Service;
- You will be debugging and resolving complex software bugs, identifying root causes, and ensuring fixes are delivered without creating collateral issues;
- You will be writing and maintaining automated unit and integration tests, guaranteeing system reliability, smooth deployments, and continuous improvement of testing coverage;
- You will act as the primary technical liaison, effectively communicating solutions and architectural decisions to both technical stakeholders and non-technical audiences.
Requirement
- 10+ years of total professional software development experience, demonstrating consistent delivery of high-quality solutions;
- 6+ years of experience in hands-on software engineering, building and deploying production systems;
- 4+ years of product and domain experience, contributing to system improvements, domain-driven design, and solution strategies;
- 4+ years in a technical leadership role – Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, or Architect – leading teams and guiding complex projects;
- 2+ years of practical experience with TypeScript and Nest.js, developing scalable backend services;
- Proven expertise in building microservices deployed to Kubernetes, with extensive hands-on experience on Azure Kubernetes Service;
- Strong command of distributed systems, with production-level experience implementing CQRS and event sourcing patterns;
- Extensive experience with Azure Cosmos DB or similar distributed NoSQL databases, including database optimization for high-scale environments;
- Expert-level knowledge of microservices and event-driven architectures, with the ability to design, implement, and scale them in enterprise settings;
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams, manage deadlines, and operate effectively with minimal supervision;
- Excellent communication skills with conversational-level English, enabling effective interaction with international teams;
- Flexibility to work during night hours: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (local time).
Nice to have
- Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform and hands-on cloud operations in Azure;
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code practices, supporting automation and consistency across environments;
- Exposure to advanced Kubernetes concepts, such as custom resource definitions (CRDs), operators, or service meshes;
- Understanding of Duck Creek Suite operations and applications, adding value in specialized enterprise contexts.
